Futzo feature

Player verification and transfer rules — no more ineligible player disputes

When player control is missing, your tournament fills up with doubts and complaints. With Futzo you handle identity checks, transfer locks, and tournament rules from one place.

What this feature controls

  • Player validation status.
  • Rules for allowing or blocking player moves.
  • Roster slots on the destination team.
  • Review evidence: reason, date, and reviewer.

Rules that can block a player move today

  1. The player already belongs to the team they're being moved to.
  2. The destination team has no available roster slots.
  3. An active transfer lock is in effect and hasn't expired.
  4. The tournament requires identity verification and it's still pending.
  5. The player doesn't meet tournament rules (e.g. age or slot limit).

Transparency note: there is no absolute rule of 'if a player already played with another team in this tournament, they can never switch.'

Configurable transfer window

  • Define how many days the lock lasts (7, 15, 30, etc.).
  • Set to 0 days and there's effectively no time-based lock.
  • Set a higher value and the system enforces that window before allowing changes.

Manual release by admin

For exceptional cases, the admin can manually release a player to allow a move.

This gives you control: not a rigid block with no way out, and not total chaos.

Identity check when the league turns it on

If the tournament requires verification, the player must upload an ID for admin review.

When a verification is rejected, the system saves:

  • Rejection reason.
  • Review date.
  • Who reviewed it.
  • Current status.
  • Uploaded documents.

Why this beats handling it over chat

  • Consistent decisions, not judgment calls made in the moment.
  • Fewer disputes from lack of evidence.
  • Rules visible to everyone.
  • Audit trail for internal review.
